SAHARA "Going Crazy"
(Page 1)
WASTELAND
(Woodward/Arens)

In this city that we call our home
I feel the loneliness all around me
I see the homeless with their shattered lives
They wander through the night
They have no place to go

Shadows falling before my eyes
The air's not fit to breathe
Millions of faces crowding the streets
Years from now, where will we be
In this Wasteland...this is our home

I see the people trying to get ahead
They're always looking out for number one
Faceless strangers with their thoughtless minds
They wander through their lives
They have nowhere to go

Shadows falling before my eyes
The air's not fit to breathe
Millions of faces crowding the streets
Years from now, where will we be
In this Wasteland...this is our home

(Solo)

Shadows falling before my eyes
The air's not fit to breathe
Millions of faces crowding the streets
Years from now, where will we be
In this Wasteland...this is our home
DREAMIN'
(Woodward/Arens/Vandall)

I was raised on the streets
I was poor, but never blind
With my visions of grandeur
Always running wild through my mind

Never needed to beg or borrow
'Cause I had it inside
Knowing that all of my tomorrows
Would come through in time

Dreamin' - Been waiting so long
And I have come too far to let it go
Dreamin' - Waiting too long
Yeah I've been dreaming so long

Fought through the jungle of steel
I always knew I'd never lose
And I'd hold out until the end
Whether rich or poor, always for more

Never needed to beg or borrow
'Cause I had it inside
Knowing that all of my tomorrows
Would come through in time, I've been

Dreamin' - Been waiting so long
And I have come too far to let it go
Dreamin' - Waiting too long
Oh I've been dreaming

The time has come, let it come
(Been dreamin' so long)
Always listen to your heart and feel it
The time has come, you can make it happen, yeah
(Always believing)
Ride the storm out to the finish
The best is yet to come, come on

(Solo)

The time has come - I've been dreamin'
The time has come - I've been dreamin' too long
The time has come - Oh I've been dreamin'
The time has come - I have waited too long

Dreamin' - Been waiting so long
And I have come too far to let it go
Dreamin' - Waiting too long
Yeah I've been dreaming so long

Dreamin' – Oh I've been dreamin
Dreamin' – Always believin'
Dreamin' - Waiting so long
Yeah I've been dreaming too long

Oh, I've always been a dreamer
(Been dreamin' so long)
Been dreamin' - All my life been dreamin'
(Dreamin' – Dreamin' - Dreamin' - Dreamin')
I'M NOT A MAN
(Woodward/Arens/Vandall/Lindemann/Spittle)

(Comment): Back when I started, no-one wanted to
have a female in a band, especially in the genre I
was going for. I remember answering ads for male
vocalists in the Music Connection magazine in LA,
because they were the only bands doing the kind of
music that I wanted to do. So, I'd find myself
practically begging and having to sing on the phone
just to even get a chance to audition in the first
place. But in the process of trying to appear as
strong as any guy, I was shutting out my feminine
side, which is pretty stupid. After all, I am a female!
So after accomplishing what I set out to do, I found
myself trying to prove that I was what I am! Pretty
goofy, I know

I can't change this situation
I am what I am and that's a fact
I've got the fire in my soul
It's no show, this ain't no act

I may be strong, a little too tough
I might come off all wrong
But it's all that I am and I like what I am
And it's all I can ever be – yeah
(But let me tell you something)

I'm not a man (She's not a man)
I'm not a man (She's not a man)
I'm not a man (She's not a man)
I'm not a man (She's not a man)

This all makes me sick
They say, “She's just a chick man,
Ya know she can't do this, she can't do that, she's too
weak”
Am I weak? What is a woman to do?
There is no sense in trying to change it
There is no sense in trying to fight it
We should all be proud of what we are
Let me tell ya!
I can't help it, I was born this way
I can't change it, I was born this way
I can't help it, I was born this way
I can't fight it, I was born this way
I can't help it, I was born this way
I can't help it, I was born this way
I can't change it no matter how I try
No, no, ooh-oh no

I can't handle imitation
I do what I do good or bad
I've got the power in my soul
I got no need for lookin' back – no, no, no

I may be strong, I may be tough
I might come off all wrong, all wrong, all wrong
But it's all that I am and I like what I am
And it's all I will ever be – yeah

Ooh – I am not a man and I don't give a damn

I'm not a man (She's not a man)
I'm not a man (She's not a man)
I'm not a man (She's not a man)
I am not a man, no (She's not a man)

I'm not a - I'm not a - Can't you see that I am not a man
(She's not a man)
I'm not a - I'm not a - Can't you tell that I am not a man
(She's not a man – She's not!)
See?
JUST NOT THE SAME
(Arens/Vandall/Woodward)

I never thought the day would come
When I'd look into your eyes and find
There's nothing there
Search for the dying spark
Try to fan the flame of love
With suffocating air
Has it gone too far
Am I to blame
Can we ever make it back again

It's not the same
Just not the same
We're not the same any longer
Not the same

I never thought that we'd succumb
That love would conquer all
But still, it slips away
A saccharin smile, a friendly kiss
The feeling's gone, I don't know why
There's nothing left to say
Was it all in vain
All a chore
Will it ever be like it was before

It's not the same
Just not the same
We're not the same any longer
Just not the same
Just not the same, just not the same
No not the same
We're not the same any longer, no
And it hurts so bad...

(Solo)

Just not the same
It's just not the same
We're not the same any longer
Just not the same
Just not the same anymore
No not the same anymore
Just not the same, oh no
Ooh it's gone...
GOING CRAZY
(Arens/Vandall/Woodward)

It all began
On the day he was born
An unstable life
Took it's toll on his mind
He sought revenge
But his mission went wrong, so wrong
Though doing time
He'll be out before long
(Now tell me who is crazy)

A girl so young
So willing to trust
Fed full of lies
The media poisons her mind
Can't seem to fit in
No she hides all her pain inside
She stares in the mirror
And questions suicide

I'm going crazy
Out of my mind
Somebody save me
Stop this confusion inside
I'm going crazy
Out of my mind
Somebody save me
Stop this confusion inside

(Solo)

We build our homes
On a foundation of waste
A modern nuclear family
Caught in the race – oh
The legion is strong
For a mighty and dark defense
Policy dictates
War at our expense

I'm going crazy
Out of my mind
Somebody save me
Stop this confusion inside
I'm going crazy
Out of my mind - ow
Somebody save me
Stop this confusion inside
I'm going crazy
Somebody save me
Stop this confusion inside
I'm going crazy, crazy, crazy
Somebody save me
Stop this confusion inside
CHANGES
(Arens/Vandall/Woodward)

(Comment): This is basically a comparison between
how hard life was physically long ago, yet
uncomplicated and how today through technology,
life is easier physically, but more complicated.
There's always a price to pay.

On and on they traveled so far
Never knowing where
Reading messages, reading cards
Moonlight games of solitaire
The wagon shows, the mystery towns
Do their best to survive
They've got nowhere, got no place to call home
The wind is calling them home

Life was so simple then
A warm meal got you by
Once ruled by his sacred hand
And moralistic pride
So many advances made, but tell me
Where are we now
We're each a number, computer card
The dollar's worth more than we are

Are we so sophisticated
Life's gotten oh so complicated, I know

Changes - so many changes
Spinnin' all around me
Changes - too many changes
On and on

It used to be so simple then
It's all too easy now
We reap the harvest and rape the land
And hide out heads in the clouds
The answer lies in space, they say
But where are we now
Without a voice, we've got no choice
So the dollar's gonna take us to the sun

Are we so sophisticated
Life's gotten oh so complicated, I know

Changes - so many changes
Spinnin' all around me
Changes - too many changes
Keep movin' on
Changes - so many changes
Spinnin' all around me
Changes - too many changes

(Solo)

Changes – so many changes
Where are we now
Changes - too many changes
Tell me where are we, where are we now
Life was so simple then
A warm meal got you by
Changes - everything keeps changing
Changes - so many changes
From one place to another we just keep movin' on
Changes - too many changes
From one place to another we'll just keep movin' on

Oh we'll just keep movin' on
Oh we'll just keep movin' on and on and on and on and on and on and
on and on and on
